The Florida Dental Association (FDA) is pleased to announce that Drew Eason, executive director and CEO of the FDA, has been elected to the board of the Dental Lifeline Network (DLN), a national dental nonprofit organization and charitable affiliate of the American Dental Association (ADA).

The 17-member board oversees the management of DLN, which provides dental treatment and education, and serves people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile and cannot afford dental care.

The statewide affiliate of this organization, Dental Lifeline Network • Florida, operates the Florida Donated Dental Services (DDS) program in conjunction with the FDA. Financial support comes from the FDA Foundation and DLN nationally. Nearly 450 Florida dentists and 216 dental laboratories are DDS volunteers, providing donated dental treatment to people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile. The Florida program has provided nearly $6.5 million in treatment to 1,577 patients since it began in 1997.

“Drew is a highly respected and esteemed colleague, and we are very pleased to have him join our DLN national board,” said Fred Leviton, president. “In recent years, Drew has been instrumental in helping us build the Florida DDS program.”

Mr. Eason currently is president of the American Society of Constituent Executive Directors, and a member of the ADA Executive Director’s Advisory Committee and the Florida Healthcare Workforce Professional Advisory Group. His term on the DLN national board extends through June 2017.
