FSAE 2015 Leadership Award Winners Announced

FSAE presented its most prestigious leadership awards at its recent Annual Conference held at The Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, FL. The Executive of the Year Award honors an association executive who has displayed the highest commitment to professional growth and dedication to advancing the association management profession. The Associate of the Year Award honors an association supplier whose dedication and leadership also advances the industry. FSAE’s Rising Star Awards honor an association professional and a supplier member who contributes significant time and talent to ensure FSAE’s continued success. This year, FSAE was pleased to present two new awards to recognize organizations that support the association industry and local communities: Association of the Year and Supporting Associate Organization of the Year.

The award winners for 2015 are:

• Executive of the Year: Paul D. Ledford CAE, DPL, President & CEO, FL Hospice & Palliative Care Association, Tallahassee
• Associate of the Year: Darin Henry, Senior Sales Manager, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa, Bonita Springs
• Executive Rising Star: Christy Gandy, Director of Administration, FL Ports Council, Tallahassee
• Associate Rising Star: Mary Malone, Sales Manager, Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, Tampa
• Association of the Year: FL Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Assn, Ocala
• Supporting Associate Organization of the Year: Marriott International and Site Search, Inc., St. Petersburg

“The highest honor any individual or organization can receive is an honor of distinction from peers. Our award recipients were nominated by their peers and selected for their outstanding leadership and contributions to the association industry,” said Rusty Payton, FSAE Chair. “We congratulate each of the honorees for their commitment, pursuit of excellence and the inspiration they give the association industry through their leadership.”

Each year FSAE awards individuals for their leadership, dedication, and professionalism in FSAE and within their current organizations. Each recipient is nominated by their peers and selected by committee-review according to a strict criterion of excellence and achievement. Award recipients’ professionalism and leadership are evident in both services to the association management profession and to the local community.
